An English Country Garden Greenhouse

Early in the season seeds are sown, in this instance to provide flowers for the cutting garden. Then as the seedlings mature it makes room in the greenhouse for a choice of summer crops and salads. Extra room can be afforded by folding down the staging and we love in this instance how the roof space is being used to grow a range of plants. Hanging baskets and pots are secured to the roof spars by means of self-tapping screws, no drilling is required. The results , fresh strawberries to enjoy without the birds helping themselves first.

A greenhouse provides a means to experiment with new plants, year on year building on experience, learning and of course enjoying the fruits of your labour along the way. It’s a place to relax, helped in this instance by the proximity of a pond, the sound of trickling water being immersed in greenery. It’s also a place to escape, away from the house and noise. Somewhere you can grow a range of plants that would otherwise not be possible in our temperate climate. It might be sunny today but you’ll always be able to retreat to the greenhouse if it’s raining. It benefits from full length frameless roof vents operated on automatic openers, a feature common to all greenhouses from cultivar. At the pain end a manual vent spans the width of the greenhouse so on warm summer days this, along with the door, can be opened to provide a welcome draught down the length of the greenhouse.
